About
Hi there! I’m Emilia and I’m a Senior Product Designer and Design Leader based in Washington, DC.
I’m currently a Senior Product Designer at U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, an agency within the Department of Homeland Security. I work on redesigning applications for immigration officers, enabling them to process refugee and asylum cases faster and more accurately. In addition to hands-on design work, I lead and mentor a team of 10+ designers, fostering a collaborative environment and outcome-oriented design practice.
Before that, I was a Senior UX Designer at a healthcare company, where I worked on products that helped people better understand and manage their health insurance. I’ve also worked at two digital agencies, where I learned UX strategy, content design, and overall website strategy. I started my career in digital marketing and project management before transitioning over to UX.
Throughout my career, I've been lucky to work with a variety of organizations, including nonprofits, large associations, and e-commerce sites across many industries. Head to my portfolio to see some of my work.
Outside of work:
I'm a naturally curious person who likes to stay busy and always be learning something new. In my spare time, you can find me at my local barre studio, planning my next trip abroad, looking for the best flat white at coffeeshops in DC, and exploring our local restaurant and museum scene.
